About Us

Bolton town centre in 1989

Our beginnings

With roots dating back to 1989, the IWE Trust was originally founded by local entrepreneurs in Bolton, Northwest of England to support the relief of poverty in the Indian subcontinent and South Asia through the provision of financial aid, education and medical treatments. Since its humble beginnings, the charity has grown substantially and now owns a multi-million pound property portfolio, the rental income of which supports the charity’s objects.

Today, the IWE Trust focuses on supporting UK registered not-for-profit organisations that specialise in welfare, relief of poverty, humanitarian and/or educational projects for public benefit, both in England and internationally.

IWE Trust also aims to operate educational centres and projects around the North West of England, supporting communities by offering alternative, vocational education for school aged and adult learners.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support organisations and run projects that educate, improve, inspire and equip communities, to transform lives.
